Patient Reference Group
The practice has a patient group and details can be obtained from the practice manager.
We aim to gather patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
Function of a patient reference group - In a nutshell we are looking "Constructive comments from our patients to make our service better within the boundaries of our ability and cost constraints". We are looking to the group to
- Give patients a voice in the organisation of their care
- provide feedback on patients' needs, concerns, priorities and health interests
- act as a planning tool - can be consulted on service development and provision
Structure of a patient reference group - it is a combination of
- A physical core group which meets at the surgery
- A "virtual " group which is contactable by email
